A Numerical Study on Freeze-thaw Hydrate Reservoir Exploitation Induced by Fracturing Technology

Abstract:Theformationoficephaseduringtheexploitationofnaturalgashydratesinpermafrostregionsincreasesthedifculty ofgas migration within thereservoir.Therefore,enhancinggas productionandreducingiceformationtoaleviate theblockage ofgas migrationinthereservoirarekey isues fortheefcientdevelopmentoffrozen-thawedhydratereservoirs.Basedonthe reservoir parameters of the WellDK-2inthe Qilian Mountain permafrostregion,this paper proposes acombineddevelopment strategyofdepressurizationand hydraulic fracturing.Throughnumericalsimulation,the influenceof thefractureradius (0~5m) andpermeability( )on theexploitation effect is systematically evaluated. The research shows that the modified reservoirarea formedbyhydraulic fracturingcanefectivelyinhibiticephaseblockageandacelerate pressure transmission andgasmigration.Whenthefractureradius increasesfrom 0m to 5m ,thecumulative gasproduction over 30 years increases by 219% ,with a contribution rate of 54.8% in the first 1O years,and the overall reservoir decomposition rate is 48.7% . The parameter sensitivity analysis indicates thatthe production enhancement efect slows down when the fracture permeability exceeds 100mD ,andtheoptimal fractureradiusisrecommended tobe 4m .Thisresearch providesatheoretical basisfor theengineringcontroloficeplugging effcts inpermafrosthydrateexploitationandrevealsthesignificantroleofeservoir modification in improving the efficiency of two-phase gas and water migration.
