Wideband Zero Intermediate Frequency IQ Imbalance Calibration Algorithm Based on Forward and Backward Linear Prediction

Abstract: To addresstheissue of signal demodulation impairment caused by IQ imbalance in wideband zero-IFreceivers,a widebandzero intermediatefrequencyIQimbalancecalibrationalgorithmbasedon forwardand backward linear prediction is proposed.First,thefrequency-dependentimpulseresponsecharacteristicsoftheIandQbranchesareestimatedbyminimizingthe sumof meansquared forward-backward linear predictionerors.Then,thediferentialfiltercoeficientsarecomputedrecursively. FinalythelocaloscilatorpaseismatchisiatedbasedontecondordersatisticalpropertiesoftigaladQ imbalancecompensationisimplementedinthedigitaldomain.SimulationresultsdemonstratethatcomparedwiththeSAM algorithmand TPMalgorithm,the proposedalgorithmachievessuperior imagerejectionratioand vector magnitudeerror. Experimentalresultsfurtherconfimthathealgorithmfeaturessmpleimplementationandefectivelyenhancessignaldemodulation performance.
