The Integration of Petroleum Culture into Urban Construction

—A Case Study of Karamay City，Known as "Oil City"

Abstract：Citiesarecariersofculture，andcultureis thesoulofcities.Karamaymeanng"blackoilinUyghur，isthenlycity intheworldnamedafteroil.OnOctober29，955，theKaramayNo.1Wellgushedindustrialoil，markingthebirthofthrstajor oilfeldinNewChina-theKaramayOilField.Subsequently，amodercityroseupintheGobiDesert，givingbirthtoanoilculture. This articletakesthe"OilCity"Karamayasanexampleandfocusesonaalysingtheievitabilityofoilcultureintegratingitourban construction，elaboratingonthemainpracticesandbasicachievementsofthisintegration，pointingouttheexistingproblemsand proposingcountermeasures.Theaimis tofurtherpromotethedepintegrationofoilcutureandurbanconstruction，createacityimage with distinctive oil culture characteristics，and facilitate the sustainable development of the city.
