Research on the Development Path and Patent Layout of Tesla and Baidu's Autonomous Driving Object Detection Technology

【Abstract】With therapid development ofartificial intelligenceandintelligenttransportation technologies, autonomousdrivinghasbecomeacriticalresearchareaforimprovingroadsafetyandtraffceficiency.Toprovidescientific insightsintotheevolutionof industrytechnologiesandoferguidanceforinovation throughasystematicanalysis.This paperintroducesvarious technical branches ofobject detection technologyinthe field ofautonomous driving andanalyzes thepatentsof TeslaandBaiduin thisdomain.Thestudysummarizedthetechnological evolutionpathsof the two companies: Teslainitiallyadoptedamulti-modalfusionapproachinitsarlydevelopmentstages,thenfullytransitionedto apurevision-basedroute,building a comprehensivepure vision technology systemaroundcore technologiessuchas Transformer,HydraNetsand occupancy networks.On theother hand,Baidu haspersistedwith the multi-modal fusion technologyroutewhileactivelyexploringresearchinpurevision-basedsolutions,demonstratingthediversityandforesight of its technological approaches.Analysisshows thatpurevision based solutionsare becominganimportant development direction for autonomous driving object detection technology.
