Exploration on WAN Quan in Treating Five Kinds of Diarrhea by Syndrome DifferentiationBased on YouKeFa Hui

Abstract：Infantile diarrhea is commonly seen in pediatrics.You KeFa Hui（An Expounding of Pediatrics）by WAN Quan inthe Ming Dynasty discussdthe etiologyand pathogenesis of diarrhea indetail，and summarized WAN's experiencein treating diarrea by syndrome differentiation.In terms of theetiology，it can be divided into five categories，including watery diarrhea caused by dampness excess，undigested-food diarrhea caused by wind invasion， loose stool diarrhea caused bycold infusion，gushing diarrhea caused by heat constriction，and dysentery-like diarrhea caused by accumulationstagnation，which can be treated respectivelyby fortifying earth and repressing wood， dispersing pathogens separatelyand discharging，warming the center and disipating cold，clearing heat and draining dampness，and eliminating root cause andaresting pathologic flow.Basedon the conceptionoffive kinds ofdiarrhea in Nan Jing（The Classicsof Dificult Issues），combining the processof digestionandtransportationof foodand water in the body，WAN divided diarrhea into stomach diarrhea，smallintestine diarrhea，spleen diarrhea，large intestine diarheaand kidney diarrheaandused prescriptionsand medication basedon thephysiological and pathological characteristics of different zang-fu organs.
