AbstractCyclopeptides are a kind of non-linear nitrogen-containing compounds mainly formed by amino acid residues through peptidebonds.Gramicidin as an antibacterial agent is the first memberof this family found in the 1940s.Since then,more natural cyclopeptide analogues have been exponentiallyreportedover the subsequent decades. This article providedacomprehensive overview of the origins,chemical structural features,and biological activities of 121cyclic tetra-,penta-,and hexa-peptides obtained from various fungalresourcesbetween December 1986 and June 2024.Inaddition,aconsiderable numberof derivatives had exhibited diversified pharmacologicalactivities relating to antineoplastic,ntibacterial,antimalarial,anti-flammatoryandantivialaspcts,whichmightispirevuableideas for the development of new drugs.This review provided reference data for exploring and discovering cyclic tetra-, penta-,and hexa-peptides with biological activities in the future.
