Identification and Evaluation of Salt Tolerance of Different Maize Materials during GerminationPeriod

Abstract Inorder to explore the salt tolerance ofcorn materials,the salt tolerance of diferent corn materials during thegermination periodwas identified and evaluated.Niththe maize inbred line B73(CK)and maize materials M483, M738,and M699 mutated by EMS as experiment materials.Through salt stress treatment,thecontents of Na+ and K+ in the above-groundandrootpartsof each maize material during the germinationperiod,aswellas therelevant indicators for salt tolerance identification during the germination period such as embryobud length,embryo root length,aboveground biomass,and root biomass were determined.Basedon principal component analysis,through membership functionsand comprehensive evaluation,the comprehensive evaluation value ( D value) of salt tolerance during the germination periodofcorn was obtained.Basedonthe principal component analysis under treatments ofO,5O,and 100 mmol·L-1 ,the cumulative contribution rates were 95.999% , 93.112% ,and 93.854% ,respectively. The comprehensive evaluation results showed that the salt tolerance of M699 was relatively excellent.
