Evaluation and Source Analysis of Heavy Metal Pollution in Sediments of Wetlands in Wanjiang Economic Belt

Abstract Based onthe monitoring data of wetland sediment samples inthe Wanjiang Economic Belt，the polutiondegree of heavy metals inthe sedimentsof the studyarea was evaluated and comprehensively analyzed byusing thegeological accumulation index Igeo method and the potential ecological risk index RI method to obtain more reliable results.At the sametime，Pearson analysis method wasused to analyze the corelation ofheavy metals insediments.The resultsshowed that thesix elements ofAs，Cd，Cu，Pb，Znand Hghadsignificant correlation，indicating that thesesixelementshadcertain homology，andtheaverage content of these six elements exceeded the background value.The average value of Cd element even reached1O times of thebackground value，and theenrichmentphenomenon wassignificant，which indicated that thepolution of thesesix elementswas mainlycaused by human factors.At thesame time，Crand Niare highlycorrelated， indicating thatCrandNi have certain homology，butthe measuredconcentration values of CrandNi are close totheirbackgroundvalues，indicating that Crand Niaremainlynatural deposition.Thecorrelationanalysis datashowed that the main heavy metal elements in the study area were derived from human activities， including pollution emissions frommining，industrial productionand living activities.Therefore，some prevention andcontrol measures should be taken for therelevant polution'sources to reduce their impact on the wetland environment.
