Abstract：Thedetectionandrecognitionofsmalltargets incomplex navalcombatscenariosisacriticalcomponentofachieving intellgent perception inmodernnavaloperations.Thispaper providesasystematicreviewof thedevelopmentofsmalltargetdetectiontechnolgies insuchenvironments.This paper examineskeytechnologicaladvances indetectionandecognition，including performanceunderadverse weatherconditions，ship-type identification，andmulti-sensorandmultimodal fusionapproaches.Basedonbatlefieldrequirements，thispaperalsoexplorespotentialfuturedirections.Underthein-depth empowermentofartificialintelligencetechnology，thesmalltargetdetectionandrecognitiontchnologyincomplexnavalbattlescenariosisaccelerating itsevolutiontowardsautomationand expansiontowardsclustercollaboration.Meanwhile，itslevelof intelligencehaseensignificantlyimproed，layingasolidtechnicalfoundationfoteealizationofall-weathrandalldimensional maritime information perception capabilities.
