Abstract:[Objective]Mung bean is animportant dual-purposecropforboth medicinalandfooduses,widelycultivated worldwide.Withongoingoptimization ofagricultural production systems and evolving public health consciousnessand dietarypatterns,market demandfor mungbeanscontinues torise.AsoneofChina’smain productionregions,ShanxiProvince face significantagriculturalconstraintsduetolimitednaturalprecipitationandfrequentdroughtconditions.Theactiveidentificationof drought-tolerant mung bean germplasmresources holdsstrategic importanceforpromotingarid landutlzationandagricultural industry development.[Method]In this study,35 mung bean germplasmresources were evaluatedunder simulated drought stress using 10% polyethylene glycol 6Ooo(PEG6ooO)solution at seedling stage.Twelve morphological traits,including plant height,rootlength,fresh weight,dryweight,androotsurfacearea,andlOphysiologicalindicators,including malondialdehyde,solubleprotein,peroxidase,chlorophyll,andsuperoxideanionrdicals,weremeasured.Droughttolerancecoficients Werecalculated foreach strain,folowedbycorrelationanalysis.Comprehensiveevaluationof drought tolerance wereper formedusing integratedapproachesincluding membershipfunctionanalysis,pricipalcomponentanalysis,andhierarchicalclus teranalysis.[Result]Basedonestablished drought tolerance clasificationcriteria andcomprehensive evaluation,the 35 mung beanstrains werecategorized intofivedistictgroups:highlydrought-tolerant(onestrain:529),drought-tolerant(9 strains: 311,360,368,386,500,307,751,92and94O),moderatelydrought-tolerant(14 strains),drought-sensitive(7 strains), andhighlydrought-sensitive(4 strains).[Coclusion]Thisstudysuccessull identifiedone highlydrought-tolerantandnine drought-tolerant mung bean germplasm resources from the 35 evaluated.These drought-tolerant mung bean germplasm resourcesprovidedarobusttheoreticalbasis formung beancultivationpracticesand industrialproduction,whilesupportingsus tainabledevelopmentofmung bean industryinaridareasand promoting eficientutilizationofdrylandresourcesin ShanxiProvince.
