Abstract:Thisstudystoivetigateteaggegatioandsdimentationcharacteristicsofmicroplasticsisandcargturbulence andtorevealtheunderlying mechanisms.Byemployingaself-developedisotropicuniform turbulencedeviceand particletracking velocimetry(PT)methd,theaggregationandsedimentationbhaviorofmicroplasticsreanalyzed.Theresultsindicatedtatan increaseinwaterflowsharstrengthouldpromotetheagegationoficroplastics,tecessvelyighsearstregthigtdisuptte structureofagegateslimtingtherfurtherlargementConcurentlyepresnceofdimentinurbulentflowcouldfacilitatete formationoflargericrolasticgregates.Astesearateinreased,thovrallsucturalfractalimensionofparticlesinwater increased,whilefacemoroloicalfactalmesioeasd,ndeesgadalloedditters shearrate.Insand-caryingturbulence,bothtypesoffractaldimensionsofparticleswereslightlyhigherthanthoseinclearwater turbulence.Inclearwaterturbulence,theoverallsetlingvelocityofmicroplasticpartcesfirstincreasedandthndecreasedwith increasingsharateasindangubleeeralleligeoitcreadiiceasinse.df thepresenceofdiment,teminmumstlingveloityofmcroplasticparticlesasdirectlyproportionaltoparticlesizehilete maximumselingelocityasiveseyproporoaltoparticles.Salmicroplasticparticlesebiedpooerslingbiliy turbulenceandweremoresignificantlyectdbyturbulence.Thestudydemonstratesthatturbulencehasadualefectontheaegation ofmicroplasticsandcanalsocausechangesinthestructureandsurfacemorphologyofagregates.Thesedimentationbehaviorof microplasticsisloselyelatedtoparticlesizeandtepreseneofsdimentotonlypromotestheagegationoficroplastisbutalso alters their sedimentationbehavior.
