Abstract: In order to improve thequality of automotiveDTS,a multi-level local datum system tolerance design is establishedon the vehicle body assembly according to therequirements of the whole vehicle DTS goals.By introducing local datumvirtual fixtures in the3Dtolerance analysissoftware3DCS,partsareassembled into differentdatum systems,andthe tolerance correlationrelationship between each leveldatumisestablished,achieving therationality verificationof thedatum tolerance designateachlevelof thevehicle body.Andtheanalysisresultsare incorporated into the design of thevehicle’s Cordinate Measuring Machining(CMM)andchimeric check fixture,aswell as the requirementsfortesting tolerances,toensure therationalizationoftheevaluationof the manufacturing deviationof the vehicle assembly. The vehicle's DTS goals have been achieved through virtual and real verification.
