Business Information Service Model of the Boston Public Library： Practices and Implications

Abstract Using methods suchas literaturereview，onlineresearch，andcaseanalysis，this paper examines the busines informationservice modelof theBostonPublicLibraryinthe UnitedStates.Itis foundthat the library’sKirstein Business Library and Inovation Center（KBLIC）offers a diverse range of business information support as wellas extensiveconsulting and training programs.Its notable practices include the provision ofspecialized information services， personalizedsupport forinnovationandentrepreneurship，avarietyofuserspaces，anda well-established interlibraryloan network.Based onthese findings，the paper proposes insights and recommendations forenhancing business information services in Chinese public libraries，withconsiderations acrossmultiple dimensions including spatial design，information resources，user needs，and librarian development.
