A Study of Zhang Zongxiang's Collated Manuscript Copies of Yilin

Abstract Yilin，compiled byMa Zong during the Tang Dynasty，is ananthologyof excerpts from pre-Qinphilosophers and post-Han dynasty texts.Since the Qing Dynasty，it hasbeen colatedandannotated by multiple scholars.Zhang Zongxiang，devoted tothepreservationandcolltionofancienttexts，transcribedandcollted Yilinthree times.Zhejiang Librarypreserves twoof Zhang'scollated manuscriptcopies，containing hisannotations，colophons，transcriptions ofTan Xian's colltions，and numerousother scholarly inscriptions.This paper providesan overview of Zhang's collated manuscript copies，systematically traces the textual lineage of Volume VIof Yilin，examines the full processof Zhang's three transcription-colationeforts，exploreshiscollationcharacteristics，andhighlightsthescholarlyvalueof his transcriptions and annotations.
