A High-Voltage Start-Up Power Supply Circuit with Overvoltage Protection

Abstract:To addressthe limitations conventional start-up power supply solutions (suchas shunt-regulated circuits and linear-regulated circuits)in high-voltage switching power supply systems,whichareplagued by low efciency and sustained high-voltage stresson power devices,a novel high-voltage start-up power supply circuit is proposedby sorting out existing technical botlenecks and comparing theadvantages anddisadvantages mainstream solutionsinthe field.Enhanced efficiencyand reliabilityare achieved byadopting three key improvements in the proposed circuit:a two-stage power supply mechanism combining a linear regulator and an auxiliarypower supply,dynamichysteresis control basedonanoperational amplifieranda voltage divider network, andan integrated overvoltage protection unit.Aprototype circuit isfabricated based on SIMetrix simulation data. Experimental results indicate that the efficiency the prototype circuit is increased from 30%~40% the conventional scheme to 72% .rationality and feasibility the proposed scheme are verified byboth simulation validation and prototype circuit tests.
