Wide-Frequency Resonance Damping Enhancement Strategy for Energy Storage Converters

Abstract:In response to the increasingly prominent issue of wide-frequency resonance in power grids with high penetration of renewable energy integration,a wide-frequencyresonance damping enhancement strategy based onenergystorageconverters is proposed.Anadaptivelyadjustedvirtual impedance is introduced intothe control loop in this strategy,which enables the energy storage converter to efectivelyabsorb the resonance energy induced by otherconverters at the point of common coupling(PCC)while completing the predetermined power dispatch task,thus achieving the effectof wide-frequencyresonance damping.Firstly,acontrol strategy for theenergy storage converterisconstructed,andanimpedance model isestablishedbasedonvirtualsynchronous machines.Secondly,a resonance damping control method based onthe active damping principle is proposed.Finaly,a design method for adaptive adjustmentofvirtual impedanceis proposed,andits impactonthestabilityofotherconverters atthe PCC is analyzed.Experimental resultsshow that the method proposed has goodsuppresion capabilityfor wide-frequency resonance issues.
