Research Progresson Fretting WearofAlloy 69o Heat Transfer Tubes in Steam Generators

Abstract ∵ As the second safety barrier of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, the heat transfer tube bundle serves a dualrole in thermal exchange and safetyisolation.However,the coupling effect offlow-induced vibrationand high-temperature water corrosion can easilyinduce freting-corrosion,causing the thinningof the tube wall, which threatens the safe operation of nuclear power plants.This paper focuses on the alloy 690 heat transfer tubes,systematically exploring the fretting-corrosion damage mechanism,damage evolution law and material oxidation behavior under different service conditions,and clarifying the mechanismand extent of the influence of key factors.The research shows that the worn area of the alloy 690 tube forms multiple layers of gradient nanostructures along the cross-sectional direction during the fretting wear process.From the matrix to the worn surface,the grain size gradually becomes finer, the oxygen content increases,and strain accumulates simultaneously.In light of these findings,strategies for improving wear resistanceareproposed from the perspectives of surface modification and microstructure regulation: deposit a strengthening coating on the surface;optimize the grain size,ensure a disordered distribution ofcarbides at grain boundaries,and shorten the aging treatment time to synergistically enhance the hardness and toughness of the material.By clarifying the failure mechanism of the alloy 690 tube and exploring optimization measures,this study provides guidance for the design and protection of high-reliability nuclear-grade alloys.
