The application of ultrasound technology in the diagnosis of endometrial cancer

Abstract：Endometrialcancer（EC）isoneof the mostcommonmalignant tumorsofthefemalereproductive system.Its incidenceand mortalityratesareontherisegloball，surpassingthoseofcervical andovariancancers.Inrecent years， the epidemiologicalcharacteristics ofEC haveundergone significant changes.Traditionally，EC was consideredtomainly occur in postmenopausal women，but curent evidence indicates that due to multiple factors such as population aging，an increase intheobese population，and changes inreproductive paterns，the incidence ofEC in premenopausal and young womenisgraduallyincreasing.TheoverallprognosisofECisgood，butthesurvivalrateiscloselyrelated totheclinical stage：the 5-year survival rate for early-stage（confined to the uterine body）EC is 80 % to 95 % ，and the effect of standardizedsurgical treatmentissignificant；forlocalyadvanced-stage（involvingthecervixorpelvis）EC，the5-year survival rate drops to 50% to 70% ，requiring comprehensive treatment and having arelatively poor prognosis；for advancedstage（with distant metastasis）EC，the 5-year survival rate is less than 20% ，with an extremely poor prognosis.Early detectionand standardized intervention are key to improving the prognosis ofEC patients.Ultrasound examination can assess therisk factorssuchas thedepthof myometrial invasion，theextentof cervicalinvolvement，and lymph node metastasisofEC，whichisbeneficialforpreoperative estimationof thetumorresectionrange，aswellasfortheformulation of personalized treatmentplans forpostoperativeradiotherapyand chemotherapy assessmentand postoperative monitoring， therebyimproving theprognosisof patients.Thisarticlecomprehensivelydiscusss theapplicationofdiferentultrasound techniques in the diagnosis of EC.
