Failure Analysis a Press Connecting Rod Fracture

Abstract:Aimingatthe problem frequent fracture failurepress connectingrods,this studyanalyzes thecausesrod fracturebasedonanactualcase,andsystematicallyapplies methodssuchasmacro-and micro-fractureobservation,chemical compositionanalsis,etalogapicructurebseatio,tsileaddesstestig,ndfiniteeementalysistolbatiely analyzeteinfluencematerialndstructuralfactorsonthefracture.Theresultssowthatfatiguestriatiosarepresentnearmultiple cracksonthefacturesurface,consistentwiththemorphologicalcharacteristicsfatiguefracture;thematerial's tensilestrength, elongationafterfractureandardnesalleeterequirementsteQ235steesandardutteieldtrengthislowertante standardeqemnttateal'scouctrepiioisenlistrutddrsctratiocursjci between the big end and the rod body,with the maximum stress reaching 47.72MPa .This verifies the cause the connecting rod fracture:undercyclicloading,localplasticeformationoursintheaimumstressreatherod,iitiatingmicrocrackstat graduallpropagateuntilfatiguefractureocurs.Basedonthis,improvementmeasuresfortheconnectingrod'sstructuraldesign, materialselection,andmanufacturingprocessareproposedtonhanceitsftiguestrengthandservicelife,providingareferencefor the design improvement such connecting rods.
