Temporal and Spatial Heterogeneity Analysis of the Influencing Factors of Demand for Ride-Hailing Trips

Abstract: To investigate the relationship between the built environment and ride-hailing travelling demand, this paper constructed a geographically weighted poisson regression (GWPR)model. Utilizing the ride-hailing order data and multisource heterogeneous built environment data from Nanjing,the heterogeneous effects of various built environment variables on ride-hailing travel demand are examined across temporal and spatial dimensions. The results demonstrated that the GWPR model exhibited superior goodness-of-fit compared to the conventional geographically weighted regression model, with Akaike information criteria corrected (AICc) values decreasing by 53.07% , 32.50% ,and 40.09% during off-peak,morning peak, and evening peak periods,respectively. The regresson coeficients of the same independent variable varied across diffrent time periods and spatial units, highlighting the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of factors influencing ride-hailing travel demand. In the density dimension,the average regression coeficients of the number of tourist attractions in the three periods were negative,indicating a negative correlation with ridehailing demand.In the design dimension,proximity to roads influenced ride-hailing demand,with higher road proximity inhibiting increased demand. As for accessbility and diversity,the results showed that distance to metro stops and land use diversity inhibit the demand for ride-hailing trips.
