ABSTRACTFucoxanthin isapigment foundinplantsandanimalssuchasalgae，marineplanktonandaquaticshelfish，and holdssignificantpotentialfordevelopmentinthepharmaceuticalfieldThiseviewintroducestheanti-inflmmatoryantioidant， anticancer，antiobsityandotherpharmacologicaleectsoffucoxanthinaswellasrecentadvancesindrugdesignsearchIt wasfoundthatfucoxanthincanexertanti-inflammatoryandantioxidantefectsthroughmechanismssuchasactivatingAMPactivatedproteinkinaserelatedsignalingpathways，egulatingteexpresioofiflammatoryfactors，alteringmicrobialsablty therebyimprovingconditionssuchasmetabolicassociatedfattyliverdiseaseandcolitis.Itcanexertselectiveantitumorefects throughmuti-targetsynergisticactions；anditwasalsofoundthatitcanexertantiobesityefectsbyregulatingtheintestinal microbiota.Itscharacteristicfunctionalgroups（suchashydroxylandepoxygroups）possesstargetspecificityandeversible inhibitoryproperties，makingitasuitabletemplateforguiding thedesignanddevelopmentofnoveldrugs，therebyproviding new insights for breaking through the limitations of traditional drug design.
