【Abstract】Objective：To explore the clinical eficacyof Guihong Zhuanggu Capsules in the treatment of senile osteoporotic vertebral fractures （SOVF）after bone cement surgery.Methods：Sixty SOVF patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group，6O cases per group.Thecontrol group was given basic postoperative treatment and symptomatic treatment with western medicine drugs after the operation and the observation group was treated with Guihong Zhuanggu Capsules under the same basic treatment as the control group.The treatment course for each group was 3 months.Thechanges of Visual Analogue Scale（VAS）for pain，Oswestry Disability Index （ODI）， bone metabolism indicators and bone mineral density before and after treatment were compared between thetwo groups to evaluate theclinical eficacy of the two groups.Results：Before treatment，there wasnostatistically significant diffrence in theobservation indicators of VAS，ODI，bone metabolism indicatorsand bone mineral densitylevels between the two groups of patients （ P>0.05 ）. After 3 months of treatment，the Visual Analogue Scale （VAS） scores of the two groups of patients were significantly lower than those before treatment （ P<0.05 ），and the decrease in the score of the observation group was more significant than that of the control group （ P<0.05 ）.After treatment，the

CTXof thetwo groups of patients decreased significantly，and the PINP increased significantly.Moreover，thenumerical change range of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group （ P<0.05 ）. The BMD T values of the two groups of patients improved after treatment compared with those before treatment （ P<0.05 ），and the observation group was better than the control group （ P<0.05 ）.After treatment，the total effective rate of the observation group reached 95.00% ，while that of the control group was 83.33% ．The comparison between the two groups showed a statistically significant difference （ P<0.05 ） . Conclusion ： Guihong Zhuanggu Capsules can effectivelypromote fracture healing，relievethe pain caused by fractures，and have a therapeutic effect on senile osteoporosis. Moreover，its clinical effect is superior to that of basic western medicine treatment.
