The establishment and implementation of best evidence about bowel preparation for colonoscopy in preschoolers

Abstract Objective：Through the application of the best evidence of intestinal preparation before colonoscopy for preschoolers，establish the standard of intestinal preparation and evaluate the effect in the process.Methods：Follow the Joanna Briggs Institute（JBI） Evidence Application Practice to work out intestinal preparation indicators before colonoscopy and to develop evidence-based practice protocols including baseline review，evidence application，and post-application review.From April 1，2022 to August 31，2023，it would be implemented in a grade Ⅲ grade A pediatric hospital in Fujian Province.Compared implementation rate of the review indicators by medical personnel before and after evidence application，the qualified rate of intestinal preparation and the compliance with laxatives.Results：After the application of the best evidence，the implementation rate of 8 of 19 indicators was significantly higher than the baseline review level（P<0.05）.The qualified rate of intestinal preparation was increased to 84.6%，and the compliance with laxative medication was increased to 92.3%.The difference was statistically significant before and after the application of the best evidence（P<0.05）.Conclusion：Through the application of the best evidence of intestinal preparation for colonoscopy of preschoolers，the implementation rate of the review indicators by medical staff is improved，the qualification rate of intestinal preparation and the compliance of laxative medication of preschoolers are promoted，and the management behavior of intestinal preparation for colonoscopy of preschoolers is standardized.
