Summary of the best evidence for safe nursing of parenteral nutrition among cancer patients

Abstract Objective：To summarize the best evidence for safe nursing of parenteral nutrition（PN） among cancer patients in China and abroad.Methods：According to the"6S"evidence model，the practice guidelines，clinical decisions，evidence summaries，expert consensus，and systematic reviews on safe nursing of PN for inpatients were retrieved from domestic and foreign databases，guideline websites，clinical decision support systems，and websites of nutrition professional associations.Two researchers independently evaluated the quality of the included literature and integrated the evidence in combination with the judgment of clinical experts.The search period was from the establishment of the database to September 22，2023.Results：A total of 18 articles were included，including 2 clinical decisions，5 guidelines，4 systematic reviews，1 evidence summary，and 6 expert consensus articles.Through literature reading and evidence integration，a total of 23 pieces of evidence were summarized from 4 aspects：organizational management，infusion preparation，infusion process，and prevention and monitoring of complications.Conclusions：The summarized best evidence for safe nursing of PN among cancer patients in this study can provide a reference for nursing staff in clinical practice.Evidence should be applied according to clinical situations and patient requirements appropriately，to improve the effect of nutritional therapy for patients and reduce the incidence of complications.
