Study on the Preparation and Performance of Manganese-Based Denitration Catalyst Supported on Sponge Iron

Abstract: To address the issue of nitrogen oxides ( NOx ) pollution control,a high-efficiency NH3 -selective catalytic reduction ( NH3 -SCR) denitration catalyst based on manganese supported on sponge iron (HMT) is developed. The HMT is modified with 2mol/L nitric acid, impregnated with a manganese precursor (mass fraction of 15% ),and calcined at 450∘C to obtain the denitration catalyst designated as HMT-2M-15Mn-450 . The denitration activity,resistance to sulfur and water poisoning,and long-term stability of HMT-2M-15Mn-450 are investigated in a fixed-bed reactor. The interaction between manganese and HMT in the HMT-2M-15Mn-450 catalyst is characterized using techniques such as X-ray difraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results demonstrate that at a space velocity of 50000m3/h ,the NO conversion efficiency of HMT-2M-15Mn-450 exceeds 90% within the temperature range of 200— 250∘C . After 12 hours of continuous operation at 200∘C ,the NO conversion rate remains above 95% ,and the catalyst exhibits strong resistance to sulfur and water poisoning. The findings provide a valuable reference for the high-value utilization of iron-based mineralmaterials in the field of flue gas denitration.
