Abstract：Inordertoexploresuitablepruningandfruit-seting methodsforfacilitygrownmelons，therebyfurtherenhancingplant growthandimproving theyieldandqualityofmarketablefruits，thisstudyemployedthin-skinnedmelonvarieties Tianmei 55and Huale，andthick-skinnedmelonvarieties Tianxiang1andMeiwang6asexperimental materials.Bycomparing twopruning reatments ofsinglevinepruningwithsinglepruninganddoublepruningtoexplorethefectsotegrowthdynamics，floweringtime，fruityield， appearance，and intermalqualityof melons.Theexperimentalresultsrevealeddistinct efectsofthetwo treatmentsonthin skinned andthick-skinnedmelons.Forthick-skinedmelons，theon-timepinchingtreatmentresultedinstrongerplantgrowth，shorterlater al fruit-bearing branches，flowering time advanced by 1-2 days，fruit maturity period advanced by 2-3 days，and a 15%-16% increaseinfruityieldcomparedtothetwo-timepinchingtreatment.Forthin-skinnedmelons，thetwo-timepinching treatmentledtoa slightdecreaseinstemdiameterbutasigniicantimprovementinupwardelongationspeed，asligtincreaseinthelengthoflateral fruit-bearingbranches，floweringtimeadvancedbydays，fruitaturityperiodadvancedbydayndnosignificantdierecein fruit yield.Inermsoffruitqualityneithertreatmenthadasgnificantimpactonthefruitshapeindexorcentralsugarcontentofthe four melonvarieties.Inconclusion，thestudysuggeststhatthick-skinedmelonsaremoresuitableforsingle-vinepruningwithonetimepinching （frtigorateralvins），ichromotesbstplatgrowthceasfritield，ndsufitality.Thin-skinedmelonsaremoresuitableforsingle-vinepruningwithtwo-timepinching（fruit-setingonsecondarylateralvines）， whichprootesadveotceleatesgadesfoegatdessuselielygeld and allows for earlier harvest and market availability.
