Integration：Innovation ⋅ Contribution： The Construction of the Discipline System of Olympic Studies with Chinses Characteristics and Its Global Value

Abstract It is such needs of the times to constructthe Olympic Studies with Chinese characteristics both aligning with the internal mechanism and development laws of the Olympic Movement and informing its practice，aswellas significance for the sustainable developmentof theOlympic Movement.Grounded inthe China' sapproach on Olympic Studiesand education，the study firstly defines and analyzes the definitionand attributesofOlympic Studies.By innovatively adopting the“Root-Branch Theory”with theuniquecharacteristics of Chinese civilization，the study comprehensively explores the study object of Olympic Studies，the Olympic movement，logically from the“rot”，“foundation”，“stem”and“branch".According tothe key contents of Olympic Studies，six“main topics”，ranging from“ancient Olympic Games”，“Olympismand its values”，“education and sport”，“Olympic organization”，“Olympic governance”，to“diverse activities with the Olympic Games at thecore”，are elaborated accordingly.Inaccordance with six"main topics"，the four disciplinaryclusters of Olympic Studies arebuilt and defined respectivelyas“Interdisciplinary integrated"cluster，“interdisciplinary centripetal”cluster，“interdisciplinary synergic”cluster，Olympic Games-thematic“transdisciplinary convergent ”cluster，based on which discipline system of Olympic Studies with Chinese characteristics in the lightof the“Root-Branch Theory"isconstructed systematically.The study also conducts the discussonon its diverse global values from four dimensions including the academic value of Olympic Studies，the guiding value of Olympic movement practice，exemplary and leading value of global sports governance，and the inovative practice value of inter- civilizational mutual learning.
