Abstract: The collaboration and relationship between humans and machines are significantly influencing the direction of digital and intelligent transformation within enterprises.Nevertheless, the mechanisms through which these collaboration and relationship afect organizational power dynamics and employee innovation behaviors remain insuficiently explored. This study aims to elucidate theunderlying mechanisms and contextual conditions that enable human-machine collaboration to enhance employee innovation. To this end,a theoretical framework titled“Human-Machine Collaboration and Human-MachineRelationship-Leadership Empowerment-Employee Innovation”is developed, employingPartial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling( PLS-SEM) alongside Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fsQCA).The empirical findings reveal several key insights: Leadership empowerment is identified as a vital mediating mechanism. The interplay between human-machine collaboration and the human-machine relationship produces synergistic effcts via leadership empowerment, thereby significantly augmenting employee innovation behavior.A combination of high levels of human-machine collaboration, strong human-machine relationships, and adequate leadership empowerment collectively forms a core set of sufficient conditions for fostering innovation across various industries. The study underscores the pressing need for enterprises to establish a“Human-Machine Symbiotic Environment - Strategic Empowerment” ecosystem. This can be accomplished through targeted strategies such as optimizing work design, enhancing trust in human-machine interactions, and dynamically adjusting empowerment strategies, ultimately facilitating the co-evolution of creativity between humans and machines.
