Abstract :A new type of inserted permanent magnet motor was proposed to address the problems of excessive stressand high losses in the rotor of high-speed permanent magnet motors,in order to protect the permanent magnet structure and reduce heat generation. Firstly,based on the strength requirements of each part of the rotor under diffrent operating conditions,an analytical model and a three-dimensional finite element model of the motor rotor were established to analyze the changes in rotor stress under different operating conditions,different sheath thicknesses,different interference amounts,and different insertion depths of permanent magnets. The sheath thicknessand interference amount were determined according to the allowable stress of each part of the material,and the feasible range of insertion depth was preliminarily determined.Based on this,the influence of diferent insertion depths on the iron loss and rotor eddy current loss of the motor was studied to determine the final insertion depth.This new rotor structure can improve rotor strength,reduce sheath thickness,and effectively reduce eddy current losses,which has reference significance for the lightweight development of high-speed permanent magnet motors.
