Abstract:Toexplore thecommunitynichecharacteristics,interspecificrelationshipsandcommunity stabilityof secondarytropicalrainforest inthe main stream ofthe Nandu River,and toreveal itscommunity structure,sucession status and trend,21 main species in the treeandshrub layer of thecommunity were studied.Niche width,niche similarity and niche overlap were used to analyze niche characteristics.Spearman coeficient,chi-square ( χ2 )statistic, associationcoeficientand matching coefficient wereused to analyze the interspecificassciation relationshipof the community.The stability of the community was determined by the improvedM.Godron stability measurement method.The results wereas follows:(1)Heptapleurum heptaphyllum had the highest importance value,and Aporosa dioica hadthe largestniche width.The total niche similarityand overlapamong these mainspecies were generallylow, among which Machilus chinensis-Euryanitidahad the highest nichesimilarityandoverlap index(O.69and0.87, respectively).(2)Theoverall associationofthemain specieswasasignificant positive association,butthesignificant rate of association test between species pairs was 3.81% .(3)The intersection point of the fitted curve with line segment y=100– x was(39.80,60.20),and the Euclidean distance from the stable point (20,80)was 28.00,which indicates that thecommunityof the secondary tropical rainforest along the main stream of the Nandu River isunstable.In conclusion,thesecondary tropicalrainforest of the mainstreamofthe Nandu Riverisinthe keystageof transitionfrom pre-succesional to mid-successional. Inorder to maintain and enhance the stabilityof the communityof the secondary tropical rainforest,weshould takemeasures toclosehillsidesto facilitateforaforestationandreducehuman disturbance.Thestudyprovides the data basis forpromoting theprotectionandrestorationof secondarytropical rainforests and enhancing the stability of watershed ecosystems.
