Abstract:Dunaliellaisagreensalt-tolerantsingle-cell microalgathatcanaccumulatelargeamountsof high-value products such ascarotenoids,lipids,and proteins,demonstrating significantapplication potential in medicine,food, and bioenergy.Thispaper providesanoverview of:(1) Basic biological research on Dunaliella,including its fundamental characteristicsand the effectsof light,temperature,pH,salinity,nutrient element,and plantgrowth regulatorysubstance on its growth and substance accumulation;(2)The advancements in molecular biology researchon
Dunaliella.These studiesserveas theoreticalandtechnicalreference for Dunaliella’slarge-scalecultivationandgenetic breeding;(3)The development andapplication of Dunaliellaand its bioactive components in medicine,food and bioenergy.This section elaborates onthe applicationvalueof Dunaliellaand guides itscomprehensivedevelopmentand utilization,andprovides areference for itscomprehensivedevelopmentandutilization of Dunaliell;(4)The future research directions that require keyfocusareoutlined,namely promotingcostreductionandeficiency improvement in theindustrythrough innovations in cultivationmodels,optimization of culture conditions,refinement of production processes,genetic engineering breeding,and strengthening the translationof research outcomes.Aditionaly,advancing theapplication of Dunaliellain high-value-added pharmaceutical and healthcare fields through safetyassessments, pharmacological efficacy studies,and clinical research.
