Report on the Introduction of New Spring WheatVarieties in theIrrigated Areasof Central Gansu

Abstract：Inorderto screenout high-yieldingandhigh-qualityspring wheat varietiessuitable forpopularization in the irigationareasofcentralGansuandtoprovideareferenceforimprovinglocal springwheatproduction，4newlyintroducedspring wheatvarietieswereestedandomparedintermsofyield，onomictraits，biologicalcharacteristics，andualitytraits.esults showed thataverageyieldsofLongchun 44，Wuchun11andJiuchun14reached6787.50，6240.28and6087.50 kg/ha， respectively，with yield increases of 32.30% ， 21.63% and 18.65% over the control variety Ningchun 4. Compared with the control， thespikeratesofLongchun44，Wuchun11ndJuchun14were6.1，3.5and1.4percentagepointshigher，espectivelytheber of grains per spike increased by 27.6% ， 3.3% and 5.0% ，and the protein content increased by11.6%，11.6% and 2.3% .Longchun 44 andWuchun11hadmoderategrowthperiods，rongesistancetodiseases，pestsandadversecondtions，highpanicleforatioates andgrannumbersperspike，aswellasgodprocessngandnutrionalqualities，makingthemsuitableforlargescaledemostation andpromotionplantingJiuchun4duetoissuperioragronomictraitsandstresresistance，ouldbeusedasanalterativevariety for moderate-scale demonstration planting.
