Report on the Introduction of New Spring WheatVarieties in theIrrigated Areasof Central Gansu

Abstract:Inorderto screenout high-yieldingandhigh-qualityspring wheat varietiessuitable forpopularization in the irigationareasofcentralGansuandtoprovideareferenceforimprovinglocal springwheatproduction,4newlyintroducedspring wheatvarietieswereestedandomparedintermsofyield,onomictraits,biologicalcharacteristics,andualitytraits.esults showed thataverageyieldsofLongchun 44,Wuchun11andJiuchun14reached6787.50,6240.28and6087.50 kg/ha, respectively,with yield increases of 32.30% , 21.63% and 18.65% over the control variety Ningchun 4. Compared with the control, thespikeratesofLongchun44,Wuchun11ndJuchun14were6.1,3.5and1.4percentagepointshigher,espectivelytheber of grains per spike increased by 27.6% , 3.3% and 5.0% ,and the protein content increased by11.6%,11.6% and 2.3% .Longchun 44 andWuchun11hadmoderategrowthperiods,rongesistancetodiseases,pestsandadversecondtions,highpanicleforatioates andgrannumbersperspike,aswellasgodprocessngandnutrionalqualities,makingthemsuitableforlargescaledemostation andpromotionplantingJiuchun4duetoissuperioragronomictraitsandstresresistance,ouldbeusedasanalterativevariety for moderate-scale demonstration planting.
