Effects of Different Water-holding Agent Application Rates on the YieldandWaterUseEfficiencyofMelonsin Jingdian Irrigation Area

Abstract:To investigate theregulatory efectsof water-holding agents on thegrowthand development and water use eficiencyimelonssoastoprovideatheoreticalbasisforthescientificaplicationandpromotionofwater-holdingagents,the efectofdiferentwaterolinggentapplicationates(Okg/a,75kgand9kg/a)onerowhdevelopent,ieldand water-useeficiencyinmelonswere investigatedunderfieldconditionswithmelonasthetestmaterialandnowater-holdingagentas thecontrol (CK).Resultsshowedthattheaplicationofwater-holdingagentsignificantlypromotedtheelongationof vines, thickeningofstemsandtheincreaseofleafareaindexofmelonsatallfertiltystages.Temelontreatedwith90kg/haofwater conservatorhadtheighestvineelongation,stemtickeningandleafareaindexatallfertilitystages,andthehghestmelonyield and water utilization efficiency,which were 1 1 . 0 % and 2 2 . 8 % significantly higherthan that of CK,respectively.Considering the growthanddevelopmentofmelonplants,yieldandwaterutilizationeficiency,romotingtheapplicationofwaterretainingagentcan beatechnicalsolutionfordroughtandwaterconservationinJingdianIrigationDistrict,andtheoptimumaplicationrateof water retaining agent is

景电灌区是西北干旱和半干旱区重要的引黄农业灌区,具有光热资源丰富、早晚温差大等显著特点,是西北地区重要的西甜瓜生产基地,但年降水量少且集中、蒸发量大导致当地农田土壤水分常年缺乏,农业生产用水主要靠补充灌溉为主,严重制约着当地农业产业的可持续发展[1]。(剩余6554字)
