Abstract  Objective：To translate the Hospice Comfort Questionaire（HCQ） into Chinese，and to test its reliability and validity.Methods：The Chinese version of HCQ was formed through translation，back translation，cross⁃cultural debugging and pre⁃investigation. A total of 310 patients were selected by convenience sampling method to test its reliability and validity.Results：The Chinese version of HCQ included 24 items in 4 dimensions，namely，physiology，environment，sociocultural and psychological.The content validity index（I⁃CVI） at item level of the scale ranged from 0.890 to 1.000，and the average scale‐level content validity index（S⁃CVI/Ave） of the scale was 0.981.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 4 common factors，and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 61.384%.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fitted well.The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.880，and the retest reliability was 0.856.Conclusions：The Chinese version of HCQ has good reliability and validity，and it can effectively evaluate the comfort of patients during hospice care.
