Numerical Simulation and Prediction of Cross-strata Karst Water Pollution in Taozao Basir

Abstract:Toaddress thecross-layer polution ofkarst water in Taozao Basin bypit water,hydrochemical analysis was conducted to determine themain componentsof localkarst waterpolution.Agroundwater modelfor Taozao Basin was established forsimulation,verification,and parameter inversion toinfer groundwater polutionpathways,andsimulations were carried outto predict the effectsof protecting karst water through schemes such as increasing pit water discharge, grouting to block cross-layer pathways,and filing pitroadways.Theresultsshow thatthe main pollutant in the karst waterof Taozao Basin issulfate ions,andthecross-layerpolution primarilyoccursthrough fault zonesand floor fracture zones causedbycoal mining.Grouting to block pathways andfiling pit roadways are identified as theoptimal solutions for controlling karst water polltion from cross-layer pathways in fault zones and floor fracture zones,respectively.
