Abstract:In order to characterize the dynamic changes of soil stoichiometry ratio and enzyme activity in plateau zokors (Eospalax baileyi) mounds, based on the spatio-temporal intergenerational method,in this study we selected zokor mounds with diferent years of experience in alpine meadows in the northeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau to investigate the changes in the pattrns of vegetation, soil stoichiometry ratio, and enzyme activity in the process of their restoration. The results showed that the vegetation richness,above-ground and below-ground vegetation biomass of the zokor mound in one year were significantly lower than those of undisturbed control plots ( ,but increased with the increase of zokor mound restoration years. Soil , ,urease, amylase and cellulase activities were significantly increased( ),while soil , sucrase, nitrate reductase and nitrite reductase activities were not significantly changed in multi-year zokor mounds compared with one-year zokor mounds. The zokor mounds restoration years explained 2 4 . 4 % of the soil stoichiometric ratio and 7 6 . 1 % of the enzyme activity variation. The increase of soil bulk density, organic carbon, total nitrogen, aboveground and underground vegetation biomass increased soil enzyme activity and carbon and nitrogen content during the restoration of the zokor mounds. The study enhanced the understanding of the influence of plateau zokor on grassand ecosystem, and provided a reference for the restoration of rodentdamaged degraded alpine grassland.
