——从ISAD(G)到RiC-CM

Abstract： In December 2023，the ICAreleased RiC-CM version 1.0，which represents a systematic innovation of the traditional archival description standard ISAD（G） that had been in use fordecades.This paper first reviews the development and main content of ISAD（G），revealing its shortcomings in the data era，such asa lack of detaileddescription，difficulty inpresentingdatarelationships，andfailuretomeetuserneeds.Secondly，by analyzing the three main components of RiC-CM—entities，attributes，and relationships， thepaperdemonstrates itseffectivenessand advancements.Finally，througha comprehensive comparison of RiC-CM and ISAD（G） from multipleperspectives，including descriptionmethods and technology，a matrix of the evolution of archival description paradigmsis constructed to study the shift from a multi-level description paradigm toamulti-dimensional description paradigm.
