Analysis on the changes and quantification of tourist climate comfort in the Western Sichuan Plateauregion

AbstractTo improve theunderstanding of the tourism climate comfort inthe Western Sichuan Plateau region，this study wasbasedon monthlydata from12 meteorological observation stations in thearea from1991 to 2020.The temperature and humidity index （T）， wind and cold index （ [W] ， clothing index （I），and comprehensive comfort index （ C） （20 wereused as evaluation indicators forclimatecomfort.Thetemporaland spatialchanges in climatecomfortin theregion were analyzed，as wellas thecorrelation between tourism climateresources andaltitude.Theresults showedthat the monthly average temperaturechanges inaunimodal pattern，with Juneand Julyas the turning point.The highest monthly average temperature was 23‰ ，the overall variation of monthly average relative humidity was similar to a“W” shape;theoveralltrendof temperatureand humidityindex，windand cold index was first increasing and then decreasing， while the overal trendof clothing index was first decreasing and then increasing.From a yearly perspective， the tourism climate comfort index in theresearch area showedanupward trend from January to Julyanda downward trend from Augustto December，and it was negativelycorrelated with its latitudeandaltitude.Thisarticleprovides references for promoting the development of tourism in plateau region.
