Abstract:【Objective】This studycompared the seed germination and seedling growth parameters offour grassspecies, namely Lotus corniculatus,Loliumperenne,Festuca elata,and Agrostis clavata.Salt-tolerant grassspecies were screened out to provide experimentalbasis forthe practiceof inter-row grassgrowing insaline-alkalisoils.【Method】Inthis study, fourseeds ofLotuscorniculatus,Loliumperenne,FestucaelataandAgrostisclavata wereselectedtoanalyzetheeffctsofO, 50and10O mmol/L NaClon the growth performance,germination rate,seeding fresh weight,soluble protein content, antioxidant enzyme(SOD,POD)activities and malondialdehyde(MDA)contentofthese four seeds.The objective of this study was to screen grassspecies suitable for cultivation in the inter-row spaces of economic forests insaline-alkali regions.【Result】5O mmol/LNaCl significantly increased the germination rateof Lotus corniculatus,but significantly decreased thatofFestuca elata.However,thegerminationrateofFestuca elata was higherthanthatoftheother three species.NaClinhibited thefresh weightof seedlings of allfour speciesand significantlyincreasing thesoluble protein contentinFestucaelataseedlings.5Ommol/LNaClsignificantlyenhancedtheSODactivityinLotus corniculatussedlings, whileexertingno significantly efectonthe seedings of theother threespecies.NaCl stressignificantly elevated POD activityin Lolium perenne.seedlings,with no significant impactontheseedings of theother threespecies.After NaCl stress,theMDAcontentinseedlingsofLotuscorniculatus,FestucaelataandAgrostisclavataremainedrelativelytable without significant fluctuations.【Conclusion】Among the four grass speciessuitable for orchard growth,Festuca elata exhibitedthehighestgerminationrate.Aftertreatment with5Ommol/LNaCl,itshowednosignificantdecreaseinfresh weight,a significant increase insoluble proteincontent,andrelativelystable SOD,PODactivities,and MDAcontent. These characteristics indicate that Festuca elata has better salt tolerance.
