Influence of mass and center of gravity on motion characteristics of thrusted flare

Abstract:To meet the motion stability requirements of thrusted flare in terminal jamming scenarios,the influence of mass and center of gravity position on the motion characteristics of the projectile based on computational fluid dynamics and six-degree-of-freedom dynamics methods is investigated. Results indicate that reducing mass does not compromise angle-of-attack stability but significantly intensifies velocity decay caused by aerodynamic forces. To ensure flight stability,the center of gravity must be positioned ahead of the most critical pressure center.It is recommended to maintain the static stability margin at 20%~25% for small angles of attack,optimizing structural efficiency while guaranteeing fundamental stability.
