Effect of high-viscosity additives on properties of rubberized asphalt and its mixtures

Abstract:In response to the issues of insuffcient durability caused by the porous structure of permeable asphalt pavement and the poor compatibility of rubber asphalt modification technology,this study proposes the use of a high-viscosity asphalt additive (TPS)to compound and modify rubber asphalt,systematically exploring the impact of diferent TPS dosages on material properties.Results show that the synergistic modification efect of TPS and rubber exhibits significant dose dependency. When the dosage is 9% ,the ruting resistance,fatigue resistance,and water stability of the composite modified asphalt are synergistically optimized,and the adhesion and mechanical properties of the modified mixture are significantly improved, effctively enhancing the structural durability of permeable pavements.The study integrates the recycling of wastetire rubber with TPS modification technology to construct anasphalt material system that synergistically enhances both environmental and performance aspects.The findings innovatively propose a modification process based on a 9% TPS dosage, providing new ideas for the climate-adaptive design of permeable pavement materials in sponge cities,and offering a theoretical basis and technical pathwayforthe development and engineering application of green, low-carbon road engineering materials.
