Abstract： Dr. Wang Siyu' s book Generation of Heritage and Continuation of Tradition： A Survey on Zhibo Village in Sichuan Province，using Zhibo Village in Sichuan Province as case study， has carried out a detailed and thorough study on the theory and practice of heritage research from the perspective of life history and overall social life of the village society. By integrating heritage studies and anthropological community studies， the author attempts to bridge the long-existing binary opposites in heritage studies， such as part and whole， nature and culture，material and immaterial， static and living，etc. to resonate with the paradigm shift in heritage studies： from individual structures and relics to the community as a whole，from the static state to the dynamic and living，and from the material aspectto a synthesis ofmaterial and cultural dimensions.
