Abstract： Over the past decade， the protection and management of World Heritage sites have faced increasingly severe threats from both human activities and natural factors. In response， the World Heritage Committee and its advisory bodies have progressively established the heritage impact assessment（HIA） mechanism as a/technical measure to strengthen heritage conservation，while encouraging state parties to incorporate it into their national regulatory frameworks.Followinga review of the development of HIA，this paper， focusing on key discussions at the 46th Session of the World Heritage Committee in 2024 and findings from the Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting，reveals the significance ofrecent advancements in the HIA methodology on heritage conservation and sustainable development，and offers valuable insights for the enhancement of ’ s World Heritage conservation.
