Abstract:Tansgenicrops,cludingisect-resistantcoton,avebeenwidelyuatedgloballyieldingsinificantooic andsocialbenefits.Cotonistheforemostnaturalfibersourceandoneofthemostimportantcashcrops worldwide.Thegenetic transformationtechnologymediatedbyAgrobacteriumtumefaciens,basedonsomaticembryogenesisororganogenesis,has become theprimarymethodforobtainingtransgenicplants.Particularlyforcottn,acropthattypicallyregeneratesthrough somaticembryogenesis,tsprocesisnotolyucialforteplicationofmoderiotechologyinottnutplasa vitalroleingeneticimprovementandvarityinnovatioincottonHowever,ottonomaticmbryogensisisaomplexpoe; althoughitsregulatorymechanismshavebenextensivelystudied,genotype-dependenceandlowregenerationeficiencyremain significantchalenges incottongenetic transformation.Thisarticleprovidesanoverviewoftheresearch progressincotton somaticembryogenesis,ummarizingthestatusoftheotonsomaticembryogenesissystemincludingkeyinfluencingfactor and molecular mechanisms,and offers perspectives on future research in this area.
