Abstract: Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) technology is an advanced control strategy. By imitating the dynamic performance of synchronous generator (SG), including the frequency regulation of active power and the voltage control of reactive power, the converter in the energy storage system can display the external electrical behavior similar to that of traditional synchronous generator. This technology can make the energy storage converter have a certain virtual inertia and virtual damping, which improves the stability and voltage quality of the power system. In order to solve the problem of active power oscillation in traditional VSG, the mathematical model of VSG is introduced, a virtual reactance link is added, and the damping coefficient of the system is increased, so as to realize the effectively suppress for the active power. The perturbation stability analysis model of the system is constructed, and the core parameters of the VSG model, namely virtual moment of inertia, virtual damping and virtual reactance, are deeply analyzed to evaluate the mechanism of these parameters on the stability of the system. A model is built by means of the Matlab/Simulink simulation platform, and the simulation experiments is conducted, which can verifies the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed control strategy. The results show that the proposed solution can effectively improve system performance, fully demonstrating its technical feasibility and practical application value.
