Study of fiber laser generating cylindrical vector beam with high repetition rate

Abstract: Cylindrical vector beam (CVB) is of great research value in laser processing and optical imaging. However, generating CVB with high repetition rate while realizing the generation of ultrashort pulses in the cavity is difficulty for current scientific research. Therefore, a new doped ytterbium nonlinear polarization rotating (NPR) mode-locked fiber laser is reported in this paper. It is based on a homemade full-gain wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) collimator so that the resonant cavity only consists of the gain fiber and the free-space portion,and the length of the cavity is shortened to increase the repetition rate. The laser generated two typical CVB modes by adjusting the fast-axis angle of the rotating half-wavelength to the vortex wavelength,and could be quickly switched with stable mode-locking. The laser generated CVB at a center wavelength of 1 024nm with a half-height bandwidth of 14nm and a repetition rate of 370.06MHz .High repetition rate pulsed lasers have higher processing efficiency and energy density,which can meet the needs of high-quality laser processing and rapid acquisition of high-resolution images. This paper investigates the generation of high repetition rate CVB by fiber lasers, which can help to expand the application scenarios of CVB.
