Research on axial compression stability of composite foam sandwich panels

Abstract:Toaddress thestabilityof theupper wing panel inthedesignofaspecificaircraft,astudywasconductedonthe axial compressionstabilityofcompositefoamsandwichpanels.Basedonengineeringtheory,keyfactorsafectingpanelstability were identified.Using finite element numericalcalculations,comparativeanalyses were performedon parameters such assandwichthicknes,stiffnerconfiguration,andstiffenerquantity.Thestudyshowedthatforthesame wingboxstructure, increasing the foam sandwich height improved axial compression stability by 52% ,whileadding " Ω"- shapedstiffenersenhanced it by 82% .Compared with their weight gain ratios,the latter offred more significant performance benefits.This research provides theoretical support for aerospace panel structure design and has good engineering practical value.
