Mechanical property of high strength glass fiber reinforced bismaleimide prepreg and its composites

Abstract:The prepreg withathicknessofO.1mmwasprepared through hot-melt impregnating process,employing the bismaleimideresinas matrixandthe high strength glass fiberasreinforcement.Thephysicochemical propertiesof prepregand themechanicalpropertiesoftheresultedcompositewerestudied.Itis indicatedthatthe prepreg possesses good processability and the viscosity of gradeI,the glass transition temperature of composite (the peak of tanδ) is 400∘C . The 0∘ and 90∘ (20号 tensilestrengthsoftheunidirectionalcompositeare1419.42MPaand47.76MPa,respectively.Thebendingstrengthand the interlaminar shearing strength are 1542.46 MPa and 67.97 MPa,respectively.The results above implied outstanding heat resistance and mechanical behavior of the composite.
