Analysis of Decoupling of Water Resources Utilization and Economic Development in Guangzhou

Abstract：GuangzhouisthecorecityoftheGreaterBayArea.Itseconomicdevelopmentisinseparablefromthesupportofwater resources.Fromtheperspectiveofthecologicalfotprintofwateresourcesthedecouplingrelatioshipbetweenwateresoucsnd economic development from 2014 to 2023 in Guangzhou was analyzedbythe decoupling index.The results showthat ① the per capita ecologicalfootprintofaterresourcsinGuangouisdcreasing，hichiseneficialfortesustainableutilzationofatersouce. ② Thereisanecologicaldeficitinpercapitawaterresources inGuangzhou，whichhasbroughtpressureonwaterresourcesutilzation and ecological environment protection. ③ Theecological footprint of water resources and economic development are generally coordinatedinGuangzouHowever，teologicalfotprintofaterresourcesandthecoomicdevelopmentintesofiustryad agriculture are unstable and fluctuating. ④ Guangzhou still needs to strengthen water management，optimize industrial structure，and promote water-saving technologies，equipment，and processes.
