Embodied Practice: A Study on Enhancing the Quality of College Physical Public Education Teaching based on the Concept of Physical Literacy

JU Fang-yuan',XIE Bin', CHEN Si-tong²,XU Wen-bo³(1.YangzhouUivesitylofcaluctiog2i;VctoUvesityittefSdMelbourne310OAustralia;3.Harbin SportsUniversity,Harbin15OoO8,China)

Abstract: College public physical education fosters the development of students' sports behaviors and habits. However, current university physical education teaching primarily focuses on skillsbased learning. This emphasis leads to a neglect of cultivating multiple competencies for students,as well as insufficient development of lifelong sports awareness. The aim was based on the educational concept of "physical literacy." It examined learners' practice representations and embodied experiences from the perspective of physical education teachers, analyzed various situations, selected methods for embodied practice, and proposed an optimization path for college public physical education teaching. The findings indicate that the open-ended program emphasizes ability performance, contextual learning, and interactive perception, while the closed-ended program focuses on bodily experience, self-awareness, and motor learning. The optimization path includes ability enhancement as the "source," motivation cultivation as the "lead," contextual teaching as the "axis," and collaborative learning as the "surface."Cognitive understanding serves as the "root,"emotional acquisition as the "auxiliary,"and embodied experience as the "foundation."It is a practical exploration of the application of physical literacy to college public physical education teaching, as well as a solution to the realities of physical education teaching in China.
